Who are Masha and Bear?
Since first airing on December 24, 2011, Masha and Bear has quickly become the most beloved cartoon for young children. It takes stories and characters from Russian folklore and revisits them including, indeed, Masha and Bear.
From Masha’s scarf and dress as well as Bear’s house and other objects, there are strong references to Russian tradition.
Masha is a little girl troublemaker who in the cartoon series gets lost in the woods arriving at the house of Bear who, on the contrary, leads a quiet but also bored life. From this first rocambulistic encounter a great friendship is born.
Now let’s find out together who the protagonists of the toys Masha and Bear are.
Masha
Masha is a lively little girl who, despite her tender age, is perfectly at ease with the forest and its inhabitants. She lives in a house that lies across the railroad tracks, but already after the first episode Bear’s house also becomes her home such is the assiduity with which she visits her new friend. Masha’s characteristic is to make trouble, almost always naively. But she does not want to spite Bear or her other friends in the woods; the little disasters she makes are just the result of her lively and curious nature. When she realizes that she has messed up, she immediately tries to make up for it. Masha is very sensitive and very fond of Bear.
Bear
Bear is an old circus star now retired to private life. He loves peace and quiet even though he feels bored. His meeting with Masha changes his life: if at first he risks a nervous breakdown, he quickly becomes attached to his new friend and finds that he has fun with her. Masha draws him into fun adventures and situations that often involve the other inhabitants of the forest. Bear is an intellectual, loves reading, painting, music, and playing chess. He tries hard to educate Masha and contain her exuberances but, in the end, is overwhelmed.
Do Masha and Bear toys exist?
Obviously given the resounding success of this Russian cartoon there could be no shortage of Masha and Bear toys. There are BIG constructions, Simba plush toys and educational toys starring little Masha and her friend Bear published by Lisciani.
