After the series 14 of the LEGO Minifigures dedicated to the “Monsters” it certainly looks like the next edition is scheduled for early 2016, presumably in February.
The theme of the next edition is not yet known, and there is much speculation online. According to some, the Disney theme, highly anticipated by collectors and enthusiasts of the brand, will finally arrive; according to others, it could be a sports-themed set in view of the upcoming European Championships. Considering that usually a LEGO Minifigures series is released 4 months after the previous one, the February one could be just the first of as many as three series to be released in 2016.

What are LEGO minifigures?
They are surprise sachets first introduced by LEGO in 2010 that contain a random character chosen from a set of 16. Only in LEGO Minifigures series 10 were 17 characters provided, one being the famous “Mr. Gold” in a limited series (1 in 5,000 products).
The concept is the same as for the figurine packs. Buying a Buy a LEGO Minifigures packet is not possible to know which character may be contained in it. In series 1 and 2 there was a barcode that allowed identification of the character right from the sachet, replaced by a braille-like code in series 3 and 4. From series 5 onward LEGO removed all references on the sachets to the despair of avid collectors.
